I had a dream that my violin was stolen. For some reason, I put my violin in my old case for it -- not my new one that locks, snaps, clasps, and zips up. My new case had gotten wet or something, so I just decided to put it into my old one. My mom, dad, and brother were leaving (with me). We were going somewhere, but I don't remember where. As we were driving, the whole family was joking about how my violin was going to get stolen. When we came home, I got out my violin to practice. I could tell that something was in the case, so I stopped worrying. When I opened it up, though, instead of my beautiful, newly bought (expensive!) violin, there was a weird-looking, olive-green-colored, metal thing that looked like a skinny violin. (The day that I had this dream, I had seen this thing in a catalog -- except it wasn't olive-green!) Instead of my bow, that was also new and expensive, there was an ordinary stick. I ran over to my mom, who was cooking stir-fry at the stove, and I told her what had happened. We both laughed and joked about it (which is really weird, because normally I would be hyperventilating if my violin was really stolen!) and were saying things like "I knew it would happen!" Later, my violin was found being sold on the street in New York. I don't exactly remember what happened in the end, but I think that someone who knew me (and my violin) found it, and bought it for two dollars, giving it back to me. (274 words)
