DRC clients are approved to receive supplemental notes due to their disability. Your notes must be legible, concise and copied in a timely manner.
  • The DRC copy machine is available to photocopy notes from 9am-12 noon and 1pm-4pm Monday through Friday, except holidays.
  • The position pays $125 per 5 unit course or $25 per unit. Notetakers are paid in one lump sum at the end of the quarter after submitting a final invoice.
  • Only one notetaker is hired for all clients for each course.
  • If you are interested in the notetaking position you must come to our office to fill out an application. Our office is located in the Hahn Student Services building, room 146. We are open from 9am-12 noon and 1pm-4pm Monday through Friday, except holidays.

Notetaker Responsibilities and DRC Expectations

  • It is extremely important to maintain the confidentiality of all information related to DRC clients. This includes the identity of the DRC client and the nature of their disability.
  • You must promptly attend all lectures and other mandatory course sessions (films, sections, all required activities), take appropriate notes and provide them to DRC approved clients within 2 days of each class period. It is your responsibility to notify the DRC client(s) if you will miss any course meetings and to provide notes from another student, the TA or faculty.
  • Notify the DRC within 2 days if you start or stop taking notes for anyone for any reason.
  • Make arrangements for clarification and exchange of notes with the DRC client. You are welcome to use the DRC as a drop-off point for notes if that works for the client(s). Label with class name, date of lecture and the client(s)’ first and last name(s).
