Job Descriptions
Crown College Mail Room Clerk - Assist with the delivery of mail and packages for students and staff at Crown College. Learn and uphold all Federal regulations regarding the handling of mail. Staff Package window hours 4-10 hours per week. Work-Study only.
Crown/Merrill Events Crew - Assist with technical and physcial set up for events at Crown and Merrill. Gain experience setting-up and using lighting systems, sound systems, and audio/visual systems. Variable schedule averages 2-10 hours per week.
College Historian - Take photos at Crown events, create an album and slide show of pictures as well as archive of photos for the year.
Resident Advisor - Responsible for a 50ish person community. Provide educational, recreational, social, and cultural programming. Enforce campus, state and federal policy. Assist residents with conflict resolution. ER #489 Dates, details and a timeline are below.
College Programs Assistant - Help plan and coordinate programs for Crown students. Create advertising, decorations and educational displays. These include College Nights, film showings, dances, field trips, arts & crafts and more. ER #1591. Dates, details and a timeline are below.
Summer Programs Assistant - Help with summer orientation, prepare summer mailings, assist preparation for fall orientation and design the Crown t-shirt.
Fall Orientation Leader - Help next year's class of new Crownies feel welcome and prepared. Set up for and facilitate move-in and fall orientation events. This is a volunteer position. ER #1590. Dates, details and a timeline are below.
Office Assistant - Support various functions of the Residential Education and Administrative Offices including front desk operations (ticket and form distribution, etc.), facilitate key check out process, answer phones, filing and routine office tasks using Word, Excel, and FileMaker.
Food Service Advisor - Performs five food surveys a week, asking students their thoughts and feelings about the quality of food service provided by the Crown Merrill Dining Hall. In addition, the FSA acts as a liaison between the Crown Residential Staff and the Dining staff. The FSA meets with the other FSA's across campus in a weekly meeting to compare trends and ideas from other dining halls.
Summer Crew Member - Working in work teams of 5-8 crew members paint and set up the Crown housing facilities for next year's residents. Minimal prior experience necessary. These are full-time summer positions.
Summer Crew Leader - Leaders work with crew members providing direction to the team and assisting the College Maintenance Staff in routine repair work. Position requires skill and experience in repair or painting. These are full-time summer positions.
Community Room Programming Assistant - Plan programs for the Crown and Merrill Community, centered around using the Crown/Merrill Community Room. Check out the gaming equipment and provide coffee and tea to individuals studying in the room. The goal of the CRPA is to give the Crown and Merrill communities a common place to enjoy each other's company.
Crown Writing Assistants - Do you like to write? Do you enjoy working with others? Do you need a job next year? The Learning Support Services Office is now accepting applications from students who wish to become Writing Assistants (tutors) beginning Fall 2008. (More information)
Crown Residential Education Office Assistant, ER #0489
- Assist the Student Life Team with day-to-day office activities. Communicate information to front-desk visitors, conduct various administrative tasks. Work-Study or Non-Work Study. Hours are 10 to 15 hours per week.
