Center The African American Student Life Resource and Cultural Center (AASLRC) provides student support services and programs to promote student development and academic excellence. American Indian Resource Center The American Indian Resource Center (AIRC) offers a variety of support services that include advising, counseling, advocacy, as well as leadership opportunities. Asian American / Pacific Islander Student Resource Center The Asian American / Pacific Islander Student Resource Center (AA/PIRC) provides student support services and programs to promote student development and academic excellence. Career Center Are you a student looking for a part-time job on- or off-campus to help finance your education? Are you a graduate ready to begin a new career? The Career Center has hundreds of part-time and full-time internship and employment opportunities for students and alumni. They provide a full range of services to help you achieve your employment and career goals. Chicano Latino Resource Center The Chicano Latino Resource Center offers programs and activities to enhance your academic success, intellectual growth, research skills, leadership development, community service opportunities and preparation for graduate school. Community Rentals Program The Community Rentals office helps students, staff, and faculty locate rental housing by making rental listings easily accessible online. We also serve as an information resource center for matters relating to renting off-campus. Counseling and Psychological Services Individual, couples, and family counseling are available regarding personal, academic, social, or family concerns. Disability Resource Center (DRC) If you experience difficulties because of a disability, including mobility impairments, medically caused impairments, or learning disabilities, the DRC can help. Financial Aid The name says it all. Don't let the $$ blues get the better of you. You may feel much better after getting information from this office. Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex Resource Center You're here, you're queer! or perhaps just questioning. Find out how the Lionel Cantú GLBTI Resource Center can make your life on campus more meaningful. Health Services Feeling under the weather? Aches and pains? Need to see the doctor? This is the place to go. Ombudsman's Office In conflict with a faculty or staff member? Feel powerless and need help? This office is an impartial, confidential, and neutral complaint handler for the UCSC campus community. Psychiatry A psychiatrist is a medical doctor with specialized training in diagnosing and treating emotional and mental illness. Psychiatrists on the medical staff of the Student Health Center can be seen by appointment, and in some cases, on an emergency basis. Rape Prevention Education This office can help if you were the victim of sexual assault, or if you want to help make the campus safer place. A variety of creative educational programs to discuss the politics of gender and the causes and prevention of sexual assault are offered through this office. Student Health Outreach and Promotion (SHOP) SHOP is a destination for information, conversation, and self-exploration around issues related to health and wellness. SHOP is where students can go to learn about health and wellness in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Offering information, education, resources and support on issues such as alcohol and other drug use, sexually transmitted infections, and sexual health, holistic health and stress management, all UCSC students are welcome and encouraged to drop in and speak with the trained staff. STAR Services for Transfer and Re-entry Students Transferring from another school can be a difficult transition with unique challenges. STAR provides support and services to help you during this time. STAR also offers a broad range of academic and personal support services for re-entry students. Being an older student can be difficult when everyone in your class is in a different age group. Student Organization Advising and Resources (SOAR) Isolated? Want to connect with like-minded students? SOAR is the place to find out about student organizations, student government, leadership development opportunities, and much more ... Title IX / Sexual Assault and Harassment The Title IX Coordinator/Sexual Harassment Officer is responsible for receiving and resolving all campus complaints of sexual harassment, sexual assault and sex discrimination; for providing and coordinating sexual harassment education for all students, staff and academic appointees; and for ensuring university compliance with all aspects of Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 with regard to sex discrimination in all university student services, academic programs, and employment. Women's Center The Center's diverse programs include conferences, workshops, panels, films, readings, exhibits, recreation, study space, support groups, theme dinners, community work teams, and much, much more. The Center also offers informal counseling on a wide range of issues, advocates for women's needs on campus, and provides advice, publicity, and other support to students who want to design their own programs.
