Changing Your Password You can change your CruzID account password via the web, or via the telnet program. About Your CruzID and its Password Your CruzID and password are used as a network identification giving you access to many network services such as:
Your CruzID will not help you change your password to administrative systems such as BANNER (FIS), PPS, SIS, or the Data Warehouse. Changing Your CruzID Password via the Web Follow this secure link to change your password: CruzID account password form. Changing Your Password via SSH You can use a program called "SSH" to login to your CruzID account and change your password if you are connected to the internet with either your modem or direct ethernet. (If you use pine to read your email, you are using SSH to login to you account first.) To use this UNIX command, you must be logged into unix.ucsc.edu . You will not be able to run this command on unix.ic.ucsc.edu. % passwd [return]
