InterviewStream

Practice Makes Perfect!

No matter what you are interviewing for (employment, health science school acceptance, internships, etc.), an excellent first impression is critical for a strong interview. This includes your appearance, qualifications, showing up on time and most importantly, your interviewing skills themselves!

Research shows that the person who gets the position is the person who best communicates his or her qualifications and skills in a professional and effective manner during the interview.

Think you're already a great at interviewing? No matter how polished you are, a little practice never hurts. Before your next interview, spend some time using our newest technology: InterviewStream!

InterviewStream helps you prepare for any kind of interview, anytime, right from home!

You can use InterviewStream from your Mac or PC if you have a webcam (Mac users should use Safari for best results), or you can contact Daniel Zarakov at 459-2368 to arrange a time to use InterviewStream at the Career Center.

InterviewStream Instructions

  • Go to InterviewStream!
  • Click "Get Started"
  • Complete the short profile, and create your username and password.
  • Once logged in, you will be at the Student Dashboard. From here, you can watch a demonstration of how to use InterviewStream, access InterviewStream's interviewing tips, and conduct your mock interview.
  • For your mock interview, you may either choose the standard interview, or customize your own by self-selecting what you want to be asked from over 1,500 common interview questions.
  • During your mock interview, the interviewer will ask you a question, after which you will respond. When finished with your response, click the mouse, and it will stop recording.
  • After each question, you can either “Retry” if unsatisfied with you response, “Skip” and come back to the question later, “Review” to see your response, or choose “OK” to move on.
  • When the interview is complete, you will receive an email with a link to review your responses. You can also access your interviews right through the Student Dashboard when you log in. Furthermore, you can email your interview to a friend, family member, faculty, mentor or Career Center staff member to review and give feedback.

USAGE POLICY

The Career Center advises students to use this software as a tool for improving their interview skills. Please be aware you can share your practice interviews via email with multiple constituents such as friends, family, faculty, employers, alumni, and other networking contacts. However, if you decide to send your InterviewStream video to any of these constituents, you should be respectful of the commitments that faculty, employers, and alumni manage.

Students who wish to receive feedback regarding their InterviewStream video from a Career Center staff member must schedule an appointment. The InterviewStream videos should not be used as a substitute for face-to-face interviews or without appropriate feedback.
