Majors and Careers

Most liberal arts majors do not have a direct correlation with specific careers. UCSC graduates are successfully employed in many fields not related to their majors.

Employers are looking for the following skills in new graduates: excellent communication skills (both written and oral); analytical/problem solving skills; leadership ability; and ability to work as a team member as well as independently.

All majors at UCSC assist students in developing these skills.
