Febuary

Continuing studying for MCAT, PCAT, OAT, GRE, DAT etc. Research specific schools for information pertaining to application procedures. Buy test practice books. Sign up for test trainings. Premeds use the Medical School Admissions Requirements Handbook in our library and go on line.

March

Continuing studying. Order copies of all transcripts sent to yourself.  Review and proofread transcripts.  Have any errors or omissions corrected.  Check that requirements are completed or close to completion. Write an autobiography. Write a resume.

April

Take the MCAT, DAT, OAT, GRE, PCAT etc. (use for entering the subsequent year) Write the essay on why you want to enter your chosen career, using your autobiography. Set up a file with the Career Center Letter Service.* Begin requests for letters of recommendation. Request 2 hard science faculty letters, 1 non science and 2 experience letters.

May

Take the MCAT, DAT, OAT, GRE, PCAT etc. (use for entering the subsequent year). Go online for official application. Request all official transcripts sent to AMCAS and non-AMCAS schools (for Premeds). Please see advisor if completing prerequisite course work or taking upper division Biology course work during Spring Quarter. Transcript requests must be made to the Registrar for most professional schools, i.e., all medical schools require transcripts from the Registrar’s Office of each undergraduate institution attended.  Make sure to proofread your official copy first – then order them sent to professional schools.

June

Take the MCAT, DAT, OAT, GRE, PCAT etc. (use for entering the subsequent year).* Research financial aid using school catalogs.  Premeds review Medical School Admissions Requirement Handbook. Use library resources on campus.
Apply to schools. Organize application materials. Respond to requests by the schools for secondary application materials and for letters of recommendation.  Contact Career Center for letter sending.

* Please note this is the last MCAT applicable for entering the subsequent year.
