Courses that contribute to professional and cultural background.

Medical technologists who work in the clinical laboratories of hospitals and other health organizations are responsible for performing microscopic and bacteriological tests related to the examination and treatment of patients.  Their work may be in microbiology, serology, urinalysis, hematology, parasitology and chemistry.  There are more than 800 approved schools of medical technology, which are located primarily in hospitals.  For general information, go to http://www.naacls.org/search/programs.asp  For specific information, check each school (catalog or web site).
