Dear Mr. Martinez:

My interest in your internship program at Any Corporation has prompted me to forward my resume for your review. I am specifically interested in the marketing internship posted on the UC Santa Cruz Career Center’s Internship database.

As a fourth-year student and candidate for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, I am looking for an opportunity to develop my skills in marketing and product management. In return, I offer academic marketing experience, superb written and verbal skills, and a keen desire to learn the ins and outs of the marketing business. My experience includes a project I completed in my Marketing course. I teamed with three classmates to develop a small business marketing strategy for a local company. Analysis of economic trends, competitors and the development of a marketing budget were some of the components of the marketing plan we developed.

I have enclosed my resume which gives additional information on my skills and experience. Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to speaking with you about your internship opportunity.

  Sincerely,

Chris Smith
