? Some Information on Our Site

This web site was designed with graphical web browsers in mind, specifically Netscape Navigator 2.02 and above. If you are viewing this with a text- only web browser, you're going to have a hard time enjoying this site! We realize that many of the images are very large and may take a long time to download for viewing; the images have been reduced in file size as much as possible to shorten download times without degrading quality.

Many of the photographs were taken by Arboretum staff. They are on this site to help intice you to come to the Arboretum. Please do not take these images for anything other than personal enjoyment: they are the property of the artists and cannot be used for other purposes.

WWW Web Page Credits

This Web Site was first opened to public access December 18, 1996 and could not have been possible with out the generous support of Helen Johnson who provided funding to complete and post this Site on the World Wide Web.

Original concepts and designs were created by the EPIC Beginning Web Design Class in the Winter 1996 quarter at UC Santa Cruz, taught by Marti Atkinson. It was designed and written by a team of four students under the guidance of a TA. Map artwork on the Gardens Tour page was created by Gael Norrington. The orginal team members were Roy Zemlicka (TA), Jacob Clingerman, Gael Norrintgon, Scott Robinson, and Eden Somberg. Many thanks to the redoubtable webster Scott Robinson for managing this site until January of 1999.

Further design, and maintenance of the site is done by Ron Arruda. Content is provided by Brett Hall, Ray Collett, Stephen McCabe, and Dylan Neubauer. Likewise, the Arboretum Staff, the Arboretum Associates, and their many friends and colleagues have added their efforts to this ongoing project.
