AICRA-American Indian Counselors and Recruiters Association
The University of California American Indian Counselors & Recruiters Association (UCAICRA) was developed in 1976. The goal of the association was to act as a system wide work group designed to provide informational outreach services to the American Indian communities throughout the state targeting students, families, counselors and the community at large. Historically, the association was designed as informational outreach, but as an increasing need to provide students assistance at an earlier age, has provided awareness to the group to increase services beyond just information.Participation is by all 10 campuses and National Laboratories
The Laboratory settings provide an excellent opportunity for internships in the students field.
Summer Programs
Often fully funded Summer Programs allow students to experience the University of California campuses on a first hand experience.

AISES-American Indian Science and Engineering Society
AISES was founded in 1977 to address the lack of participation of American Indians in the science and engineering programs in higher education. AISES has been instrumental in establishing an outreach program to tribes, schools, non-profit organizations, corporations, foundations, and government agencies. AISES continues to seek out students who are interested in careers in science, technology, and engineering, nevertheless, AISES is a welcoming place for all students. The AISES National Conference usually has over 2,000 participants and is well worth attending, to make connections with American Indians at other universities, to obtain information for graduate school, and speak with recruiters from numerous corporations and organizations. The 30th National Conference for the Fall 2008, will be held in Anaheim, California from October 30th to November 1st. I hope that a number of you will consider attending.
