With over 13 years of industry and university experience as a mechanical engineer, Matthew Lehman has acquired an extensive set of skills pertaining to the design, analysis, test, and manufacture of fluid/thermal systems such as turbomachinery, valves, tanks, regulators, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, propellant plumbing, and combustors . Matthew has served as the lead engineer on multiple turbomachinery programs developing the analysis skills, program management experience and test program leadership to deliver results. His experience includes university research (Penn State), a federally funded research and development center (The Aerospace Corporation) and the private sector (Northrop Grumman and Space Exploration Technologies). Areas of primary strength are computational fluid dynamics (CFD), fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, component sizing and integration, hardware development/qualification testing, and project and subcontract management. |

| Biography: |
Arlene Uribe has 20 years of experience in providing assistance to the elderly, with the goal of improving the quality of their life. She has created the “Au Golden Girl Senior Services” which focuses on the special needs of seniors, including providing pleasure, entertainment, pet therapy, social events, outings, professional home safety organization, bill-paying, personal errands, etc. Every senior is given a customized plan addressing their individual needs. Furthermore, in an attempt to expand the range of her services, Arlene is about to complete the requirements for receiving a license as a Geriatric Care Manager issued by the University of Florida . In this capacity she will be able to offer: caregiver support related to elder care, help for elder relatives and a variety of services including providing a home assessment to create a senior care plan recommendation based on the interview.
Arlene has also a great deal of experience in a variety of financial tasks, including accounting, payroll, taxes, investment instruments, etc., as well as in general administrative work.

Alen Plicanic has much experience leveraging technology for the betterment of organizations and society at large. His career in Information Technology (IT) spans positions from first-level user support to his most recent position as IT Director at Mentornet (a nonprofit that facilitates mentoring relationships for women and underrepresented minorities in the sciences and engineering). Alen's experience in IT includes systems administration, network management, mentoring, and the building and management of online communities (commonly recognized as Web 2.0 applications). Most of his recent experience and focus has been in non profit and academic environments, though his career began in the business sector. Alen has a strong interest in the interaction between technology and people, with a keen eye towards the benefits of technology (or occasional lack of it), especially in the context of using technology for the betterment of society. |

Elena N. Cohen is Regulatory Counsel in the Office of Regulatory Policy in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) in the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). She has over 20 years of experience working on health issues, representing the federal government, national patient advocacy organizations, and non-profit health care institutions. She began this career as staff attorney for the Society for the Right to Die. She then represented health care providers as Associate General Counsel at New York-Presbyterian (the University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell) and Maimonides Medical Center in New York City . She also served as Senior Counsel at the National Women's Law Center focusing on women's health issues and reproductive rights. Ms. Cohen has authored over 30 publications on health care issues. She is a graduate of Harvard University and New York University Law School . |

| Biography: |
Sarah is a practicing artist who has exhibited her work nationally and internationally. Her experiences as an art instructor include serving as adjunct faculty at the Herron School of Art and Design, Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis from 2006-08 where she taught in the Elective Arts, Foundations and Printmaking departments. She was the Artist in Residence at The Edinburgh Academy from 2005-06. During her residency she established a screenprinting studio and taught photo-silkscreen and photography to junior and senior level art students. Prior to her graduate studies she worked as a full time elementary art teacher for four years in Cleveland , Ohio . In addition she has been invited to give lectures and present workshops on her own work at various art institutions, including most recently the Academy of Art University in San Francisco . Sarah Sanford lives in Santa Cruz , CA and is a member of the California Society of Printmakers. |

In 1995, Jennifer
went on summer vacation to Key West, Fla. She returned to California two and half years later a journalist. Between covering missile defense testing as a politics reporter and Cuban folk artists as a features editor at the Key West Citizen, she found her calling. Ms. Mahal has also designed papers for Times Community News, city edited the Huntington Beach Independent, talked with painters, poets and jazz singers for the Newport Beach Daily Pilot and has recently written about equestrian culture and mariachi for the San Diego Union-Tribune. From 2004 to January 2007, she served as publicist for the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa, helping them open their new concert hall. She is currently looking for opportunities in freelance writing and editing. My work experience consists of a strong background in marine/estuarine science applied most recently to designing and fabricating a variety of oceanographic instruments. With a keen interest in tools, hand work, machines and electrical devices, coupled with a formal background in science and close collaborations with other scientists and engineers, I've been able to produce many accurate and reliable oceanographic instruments that have become the backbone of several research programs. I hope to continue such collaborations and to apply new ideas and technologies to the development of novel scientific instruments. |

Yingwei is a biostatistician and has been working at the Division of Biomedical Statistics and Informatics at Mayo Clinic for three years. She has been working on phase I and II clinical trials with responsibilities including designing clinical trials, monitoring trial conduct, performing data analysis, preparing conference abstracts, and writing research manuscripts. Apart from clinical trials, she also works on other research projects, including epidemiology studies. Prior to her training in Biostatistics, Yingwei also earned an MD and and an MS in Physiology at one of China's top three medical schools. This has contributed to her research in many ways. Yingwei takes a thorough and comprehensive approach to her work. For each project she has worked on, she has collaborated closely with the primary investigators and achieved a well-rounded understanding of the project's background so as to determine the appropriate statistical analysis plan. |
