The Department of History at the University of California, Santa Cruz is developing an on-going pool of qualified instructors to teach occasional courses on a part-time basis in all areas of History including, but not limited to the following:
Africa
Ancient History
Middle East (colonial and post colonial)
Latin America (colonial and national periods)
Modern China
Medieval Europe
Modern Europe, particularly France and the Mediterranean
Modern Japan
United States (all time periods)
World History
Candidates accepted to our pool may be approached by other units to teach in areas related to their demonstrated areas of expertise
RANK: Lecturer
SALARY: $4908 - $5707 per course commensurate with experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in History or related field prior to commencement of teaching assignment. Emphasis will be placed on teaching excellence at university level. Applicants who are advanced to candidacy must have their thesis advisor submit a projected date of completion.
POSITION AVAILABLE: As openings occur starting Winter Quarter 2004, contingent upon availability of funding.
